One of the Georgia Bulldogs’ top quarterbacks was working hard over the holiday weekend.

Carson Beck‍, a second-year player from Jacksonville was seen making a slew of throws on social media. Beck only played in one game as the Bulldogs moved through their 2020 season that saw three different signal callers start for Kirby Smart’s program.

Beck is one three players fighting for the backup spot behind proclaimed starter JT Daniels, who is returning for what is expected to be his final season of college football. Beck is battling Stetson Bennett, who started more games in 2020 than any other quarterback and newcomer Brock Vandagriff‍, who is an Athens native.

Beck took the most snaps of any quarterback outside Daniels during the Bulldogs’ annual G Day spring game - leading most observers to assume he was in the backup spot in the spring. It remains to be seen what will happen this fall, however, as Georgia is as gifted at quarterback as any time in Kirby Smart’s tenure in Athens.

Daniels’ assumed departure after this season appears to be setting up one of the biggest battle royals for the starting spot in Silver Britches for the 2022 season. Beck, Vandagriff and Rabun County QB Gunner Stockton‍ should all be on campus to help determine who will be under center when the Dawgs kick off the season against Oregon in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
