BIG TIME 5-star DL Target Set To Visit to Georgia

Add another 5-star to the giant list of visitors who will be coming through Athens early next month.
That would be elite DE Jayden Wayne out of Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington. The 2023 playmaking defender earned an offer from Georgia today and admitted to Dawg Post that he’s excited to learn more about the program during his upcoming visit. He’ll be taking a visit to the Classic City with his father and some teammates on June 3rd.
“I know coach Todd Hartley the most”, Wayne said. “I can't wait to meet Coach Kirby Smart and to see the facilities and the weight room.”
The 6-foot-5 240-pounder from the West Coast has had a giant month of May, earning offers from Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Miami, and Michigan all in the last two weeks. He’s one of the top overall athletes in the state and considered a top basketball player in the area as well. He’s a multi-year starter for Lincoln and is expected to keep adding major offers over the next few weeks.
Wayne is ranked as the No.1 overall prospect in Washington and the No.14 overall prospect in the country in the 2023 class according to the 247 Composite rankings.
In other news, a new 2022 target to keep an eye on is DE Derrick Moore. The 6-foot-4 260-pound defender is a former teammate of new UGA commitment De’Nylon Morrissette at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore and sources say the two have remained close since Morrissette moved back down to Georgia last year.
The Bulldogs still have plenty of options on the defensive line in the 2022 class, but offering Moore means he’s still an edge defender the staff thinks highly of. Sources say Georgia is behind a few other schools at the moment, but if the Bulldogs can get him on campus this summer, anything could happen down the road.
