5-Star OL Amarius Mims Commits to the Georgia Bulldogs

COCHRAN, GA - Kirby Smart and his Bulldogs got another 5-star commitment Wednesday with the addition of Bleckley County OL Amarius Mims.
Mims’ commitment pushes the Bulldogs closer to signing their second consensus No. 1 recruiting class in a row. Last year’s No. 1 class was the first in program history. Mims is considered a consensus top-ten prospect in the Class of 2021.
The Bulldogs were considered heavy favorites to beat out Tennessee for Mims.
“Tennessee gave them a good run,” Dawg Post recruiting analyst Matt DeBary said. “But it always looked like it was going to be Georgia for Mims, and at the end of the day it was. He’s massive, and he could play very quickly for Kirby Smart a year from now.”
The commitment means the Bulldogs are continuing to pile up high-level offensive linemen through recruiting. Mims joins a program that just produced two first-round NFL Draft picks and just signed two of the top three offensive tackle prospects in the 2020 class.
