ATHENS - Former UGA QB Aaron Murray watched Georgia’s scrimmage on Saturday, and he came away impressed with the offense.

The CBS college football analyst said the Bulldogs have options at quarterback

“One guy that has a lot of potential - a lot of upside - is D’wan Mathis. He was given he nod yesterday to get with the ones at the start of the scrimmage, and he didn’t disappoint. I thought ht looked really comfortable in the system. He’s got a big arm. Athletic. He showed that both inside the pocket and outside the pocket. He has some great runs in the first half as well.”

“I think (Mathis) is someone you continue to work with. He has a chance to be pretty darn special - just needs those live in-game reps.”

“I thought JT, when he took over in the second half, looked comfortable. He looks healthy - waiting to see when he gets cleared.”

“To me the guy that looked the best yesterday of all of the quarterbacks was Carson Beck. Lucky for him he was going against the No. 2 defense - not that vaunted No. 1 defense that UGA is going to be able to put out there. He looked really comfortable. Big strong arm. He, too, just like D’wan, made plays both inside and outside the pocket. He’s someone I am interested to watch over these next few years - how his development takes off within this system.”

“I thought all three quarterbacks played really well. I thought it was a big win for the offense two weeks out from the first game.”
