UGA Holds Steady as Vols, FSU and Others Brace for Reckoning

ATHENS - UGA’s athletic department is in one of the best financial positions in the country - and right now it needs to be. 

So does everyone else in college athletics. Over the past decade, UGA has managed to stockpile cash that it has made over its expenses and invested it with something called the UGA Foundation. Those savings have given UGA some flexibility in the most turbulent times the sport has seen since World War II.
