So, it’s early May, and the Bulldogs are sitting well heading into the summer with seven verbal commitments. Kirby Smart and his staff have done an excellent job of locking down the peach state, with six of their seven commits being in-state prospects.

The Bulldogs landed their 5-star quarterback commitment in late January in local gunslinger Brock Vandagriff‍. They’ve since added four-star offensive lineman Micah Morris‍ and 4-star running back Lovasea Carroll‍ to the commitment list on offense.

Defensively, Kirby Smart and his staff have started strong along the defensive line, adding two future defensive tackles in Jonathan Jefferson‍ and Marlin Dean‍ to join four-star edge rusher Elijah Jeudy‍.

Of course, four-star safety DJ Daniel‍ of Woodstock (GA) first jumped on board last September and has been recruiting for the Bulldogs ever since. Daniel told Dawg Post that he has high expectations for Georgia’s 2021 class.

“We definitely will be in top 3, but we got a shot to be #1 for sure,” Daniel told Dawg Post. “I talk to the coaching staff about every other day. Coach Smart and I chop it up about every other week as well. Most of my interaction is with Coach Warren.”

Some Bulldog commitments took to Twitter to reach out to some of Georgia’s top remaning targets. Those targets seem to be very clear, especially if you look at some of the tweets from Georgia’s 5-star quarterback, Brock Vandagriff. His biggest target is Bleckley County (GA) five-star offensive tackle, Amarius Mims‍.

In his tweet out to Mims, Vandagriff also tagged three other offensive lineman. One was four-star tackle commit, Micah Morris‍. The other two? Four-star lineman Terrence Ferguson‍ and Dylan Fairchild‍.

Vandagriff was also doing his part to land an impact prospect on defense. Both he and Daniel sent out a tweet to Paulding County (GA) linebacker Smael Mondon‍.

If the Bulldogs want to land the nation’s top class, landing Amarius Mims and Smael Mondon is a must. They’ll also have to land the liked of Tony Grimes, James Williams, Dallas Turner, and maybe a couple more top defensive line targets.

If you ask four-star commit Marlin Dean‍, the chances of that happening could be pretty high.

“I feel like our class is going to be the class that changes the game for Georgia,” Dean said. “I talk to defensive line coach Tray Scott like every day. It’s more like a father son conversation like how’s my day, how’s the family, and stuff like that.”

Dean also admitted that he’s in communication with other Bulldog targets, and he’s doing everything he can to help Georgia land the best class possible.

Even running back commit Lovasea Carroll added that Georgia’s 2021 class has the chance to be something special.

“I honestly think we’re going to have the best 2021 class no matter what the ranking say,” Carroll said. “ I talk to Coach McGee a lot. I talk to all the commits a good bit because we have a group chat together!”

With multiple top prospects planning to announce down the road after official visits, the Bulldogs are in a prime position to close strong yet again, and push for the nation’s top class.
