No. 1 QB in Country, Brock Vandagriff, Commits to UGA
ATHENS - Brock Vandagriff, the consensus top quarterback prospect in the country, committed to Georgia today - making the announcement on social media.
Vandagriff has previously committed to play for Oklahoma, but pulled back from that commitment near the end of the 2019 football season. Vandagriff recently visited UGA for a recruiting weekend, and had the chance to visit with new UGA offensive coordinator Todd Monken.
Vandagriff is one of the most-gifted signal callers in the country. The 6-3, 200-pound prospect plays locally at Prince Avenue Christian School. The Wolverines scored more than 50 points six times with Vandagriff at quarterback in 2019.
“Vandagriff is very polished and technically sound,” said Dawg Post recruiting analyst Matt DeBary. “He might not put up numbers the way Trevor Lawrence did in high school, but his arm talent is right there with him.”
Vandagriff considered a 5-star quarterback prospect. He is listed as the consensus No. 8 overall player in the country.
“He plays with confidence and knows he can make just about every throw on the field,” DeBary added. “Vandagriff also brings intangibles. He’s got the leadership qualities and has the “X” factor to his game.”
