ATHENS - One play, perhaps a mini miracle, still stands as the greatest play in UGA history.
It was a three-play, 93-yard “drive” that resulted in Georgia taking out the Gators on the way to one of its five national titles.
With only 1:35 left in the game and down 21-20, Buck Belue hit Lindsay Scott on 93-yard TD pass with 1:04 to go ahead 26-21.
No. 2 Georgia beat No. 20 Florida 26-20 in Jacksonville on November 8, 1980 at the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville. The play was cemented in Georgia lore thanks to Larry Munson’s legendary call
“Florida in a stand-up five; they may or may not blitz--they won't. Buck back. Third down on the 8. In trouble. Got a block behind him. Going to throw on the run. Complete to the 25, to the 30. Lindsay Scott 35, 40. Lindsay Scott 45, 50, 45, 40. Run Lindsay! Twenty-five, 20, 15, 10, 5. Lindsay Scott! Lindsay Scott! Lindsay Scott! ... Well, I can't believe it. 92 yards and Lindsay really got in a footrace; I broke my chair; I came right through a chair, a metal STEEL chair with about a five-inch cushion ... Do you know what is going to happen here tonight? And up at St. Simons and Jekyll Island and all those places where all those Dawg people have got those condominiums for four days? Man, is there going to be some property destroyed tonight! 26 to 21, Dawgs on top! We were gone. I gave up; you did too. We were out of it and gone. Miracle!”

DL Richard Seymour
One of the most dominating defensive players in UGA history, Seymour filled the middle of the defensive line for four years and 25 starts. In 1999, he was one of the few defensive linemen in college football that led his team in tackles (74). In his career, Seymour recorded 223 tackles, ten sacks and 26 tackles-for-loss.
