According to ESPN’s Chris Low, the Tennessee Vols will make a switch at quarterback this Saturday when the Georgia Bulldogs come to town.

It will be true freshman Brian Maurer who gets the start on Saturday night after the continued struggles of Jarrett Guarantano. Guarantano, in his third season as the starter, has thrown for 753 yards this season with 7 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. More importantly, The Vols are 1-3 with home losses to Georgia State and BYU.

Maurer, a former 3-star prospect in the 2019 class, was ranked the No.19 pro-style quarterback prospect and the No.58 overall prospect in the state of Florida.

As a backup this season, Maurer is only 4/13 for 44 yards and one interception.

The Vols host the number-3 ranked Georgia Bulldogs at 7:00 PM Saturday Night in Neyland Stadium.
