5-star CB Kelee Ringo‍ annouced Saturady that he has picked UGA. His decision was made at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

The nation’s top cornerback prospect signed with Georgia during the early signing period. He picked the Bulldogs over Texas, Washington, and others after multiple visits to Athens this year.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder out of Saguaro (AZ) picked up a Georgia offer in the summer of 2018, and the Bulldogs were high on his list after that. Ringo was in Athens in April for G-Day where he was given the red-carpet treatment from Kirby Smart prior to the scrimmage.

Ringo returned to Athens a month later for the “Scavenger Hunt” weekend, where the staff hosted some of the top prospects in the nation.

The elite shutdown cornerback took his official visit to Georgia the weekend of December 13th and the rest was history. Head coach Kirby Smart’s close ties to the secondary was a big factor for Ringo, who knows he’ll be coached by one of the best defensive minds in college football.

Ringo is considered the No. 1 cornerback prospect in the country, the No. 1 prospect in Arizona, and the consensus No. 8 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

The commitment gives the Bulldogs two five-star commitments in a three-day span. Georgia now has a very real shot at the consensus No. 1 recruiting class in the country. Should UGA add one more commitment or signee it will pass both Alabama and Clemson for the No. 1 spot in the 2020 recruiting cycle.
