No. 33 - Freddie Gilbert, DL from Griffin

A two-time All-SEC performer and four-year starter, Gilbert was part of Georgia’s greatest four-year period in school history posting an overall record of 43-4-1 from 1980-83). 1980 national championship, three SEC championship, and four major bowl games - Gilbert helped solidify Georgia’s defensive line with the uncanny ability to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks. His 26 career sacks still rank sixth in Georgia’s all-time record book. He went on to play with Herschel Walker in the U.S.F.L. in 1983 before returning to the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
