Giants Take Deandre Baker in the 1st Round of NFL Draft

UGA DB Deandre Baker was selected as the No. 30 overall pick by the New York Giants Thursday night. 

Baker was the first cornerback to be taken in the 2019 NFL Draft, and was the first Bulldog off the board. He was one of three Giants picked in the first round. New York picked Lorenzo Carter last year with the 66th overall pick last year. 

ESPN NFL Draft Analyst Mel Kiper said Baker “is a very confident football player.”

“He was very consistent,” Kiper said. “He is very complete. He will tackle you.”
