HOGANSVILLE - There aren’t many prospects in the country like Callaway’s Tank Bigsby‍. After bursting into the recruiting scene as a freshman, the 6-foot, 205-pounder has become a nationally-ranked prospect and one of the top overall prospects in Georgia.

Offers came in early and often, with just about every major program in the country offering Bigsby early in the process.

“Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Auburn - They’re all recruiting me hard right now.” Bigsby said.

Bigsby might be a quiet guy off the field, but he is a very determined and focus young man. He knows what he’s looking for in a school, and he’s got a plan for his future no matter where he ends up playing.

“I want to go somewhere where I can build my own legacy.” Bigsby said. “I don’t have to worry about playing somewhere where someone already came in and built it. I just want to be great.”

While he’s one of the best athletes in the state, Bigsby admitted that most schools are recruiting him to play running back.

“It doesn’t matter who I come in with or play with at the next level.” Bigsby said. “I know I’m going to come in and compete and play early. That’s the goal.”

With so many schools in the mix, Bigsby said he will start to narrow down his list of schools very soon.

“I’ll come out with my top 5 in March.” Bigsby said.

Bigsby visited Alabama last weekend and plans to visit more schools this spring.

“I might be at Auburn or South Carolina next weekend.” Bigsby said. “I know I’m going to visit Georgia and Auburn soon, too.”

Getting a feel for the coaching staff is very important to Bigsby as he tries to develop a relationship with coaches from across the country.

“I’d say all the coaches are recruiting me equally as hard.” Bigsby said. “I feel like some of the coaches are being real while some are just telling stories. I’m just trying to find out who’s real and who isn’t.”

It’s clear this is going to be a battle for the state’s top running back prospect. Bigsby said that he talks to Georgia running backs coach Dell McGee fairly consistently, and that the two have a good relationship. The Callaway star has made a recent trip to South Carolina and the Gamecocks, like others, have made Bigsby a top priority. Sources say Gamecock assistants Thomas Brown and Bryan McClendon have done a nice job of recruiting Bigsby early on.

With a decision coming before his senior season, every visit from now on will be extremely important for Bigsby and his family. Ranked as the 6th-overall prospect in Georgia, Bigsby totalled 2,221 yards on the ground and scored 22 total touchdowns during the 2018 season.
