5-Star Anthony Edwards Picks UGA over Kentucky, FSU

ATLANTA - Anthony Edwards‍, the consensus No 2 prospect in the country, committed to Georgia Monday morning. 

Edwards picked the Bulldogs over Kentucky and Florida State. He is the highest-ranked basketball prospect from Atlanta to pick the Bulldogs since James Banks did so in 1980. 

A McDonald’s All-American, Edwards will give Georgia an instant boost at guard and in scoring. The Bulldogs, who are suffering through a losing season in Tom Crean’s first year as head coach, have struggled with inconsistent play at guard - turning the ball over at record pace this winter. 

Insiders expect Edwards to play one year of college basketball before entering the NBA Draft. Edwards is considered one of the top overall prospects for the 2020 NBA Draft.
