2019 UGA target and 5-star Grayson LB Owen Pappoe scored what various reports have called the highest ever SPARQ test score - 147.12 - at a regional event. He did that Sunday in Charlotte.
2019 5-star Cedar Grove WR and UGA commit Jadon Haselwood took an official visit to Oklahoma over the weekend.
2019 4-star Colonia (NJ) DL Antonio Alfano visited Georgia over the weekend.
2019 5-star IMG (FL) LB and UGA commit Nolan Smith visited Florida for the Gators’ spring game.
2019 4-star Blessed Trinity LB and UGA commit J.D Bertrand visited UGA over the weekend.
2020 Marietta QB Harrison Bailey visited Alabama Saturday.
2020 Southern Columbia (PA) WR Julian Fleming visited Georgia over the weekend.
2020 Peach County LB Sergio Allen visited Georgia over the weekend.
2019 4-star Tucker DL Derrick McLendon was named the Rivals 3 Stripe Atlanta defensive line MVP.
2019 5-star Oxford (AL) OL Clay Webb was named the Rivals 3 Stripe Atlanta offensive line MVP.
2018 UGA commit Tyson Campbell ran a 10.43 in the finals of his district 100-Meter Dash on Thursday.
2019 3-star Marist DB Kyle Hamilton visited Michigan over the weekend.
2019 4-star Buford OL Harry Miller visited Ohio State over the weekend.
2020 Pierce County OL Avery Jernigan visited Georgia over the weekend.
It seems quarterback is a spot where players are starting to line up with their college choices. This week two of the top seven consensus prospects at that position committed to programs - Sun Valley (NC) QB Sam Howell to Florida State and Avon Old Farms (CT) QB Taisun Phommachanh to Clemson. Howell had an offer from UGA while Phommachanh didn’t.
According to published reports, of the 14 players Georgia has offered at quarterback six are committed to a school.
****** WHAT TO WATCH FOR LATER THIS WEEK ******
Georgia’s annual G Day kickoff Saturday at 4 PM on ESPN. The Bulldogs are set to host a slew of prospects for the event. Kirby Smart has encouraged fans to fill up Sanford Stadium in order to impress recruits. No one in the SEC has attracted more than 60,000 fans for their spring game yet this season. Ohio State, which has been a leader in spring attendance of late, allowed in only 79,000 fans due to construction at Ohio Stadium.
Monday is the start of the so-called Evaluation Period in the NCAA recruiting calendar. From April 16 until May 31, every day save Sundays will serve as a part of the evaluation period.
The NCAA defines the evaluation period in this paragraph:
“During an evaluation period, a college coach may watch college-bound student-athletes compete, visit their high schools and write or telephone student-athletes or their parents. However, a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents off the college’s campus during an evaluation period.”

5-star Cedar Grove WR Jadon Haselwood
Matt DeBary on Haselwood: The 5-star WR out of Cedar Grove chose Georgia on 3/16/17 over Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma and many others. Haselwood will bring an elite combination of size and speed and should push for immediate playing time in 2019.
5-star IMG (FL) DL Nolan Smith
Matt DeBary on Smith: The Bulldogs were the first offer for the 5-star out of IMG Academy (FL) and they earned his commitment on 01/29/17. Smith is an outstanding athlete at 6-foot-3 234-pounds with elite speed off the edge. He's one of the top pass rushers in the country and will start his career at OLB for the Bulldogs in 2019.
5-star Walton WR Dominick Blaylock
Matt DeBary on Blaylock: Another one of the top receivers in the country, the Walton playmaker committed to Georgia on 7/16/17. Blaylock is a fluid route runner at 6-foot-1 195-pounds with excellent hands. Like Haselwood, Blaylock should compete for early playing time the second he arrives on campus.
4-star Dacula DB Jalen Perry
Matt DeBary on Perry: This Georgia staff is looking for longer defensive backs, and that's exactly what they're getting in Dacula athlete Jalen Perry. The 6-foot-1 188-pound cornerback is long and athletic with the ability to play some offense and special teams as well. Perry is a four-star prospect and one of the top ranked cornerbacks in the south.
4-star Christian Brothers (TN) DL Bill Norton
Matt DeBary on Norton: The Bulldogs went up to Memphis and got one of the top prospects in Tennessee in Christian Brothers DL Bill Norton. Norton committed to Georgia on 3/18/18 and will be able to play all over the defensive line at 6-foot-6 275-pounds.
4-star Kennesaw Mountain TE Ryland Goede
Matt DeBary on Goede: The four-star TE out of Kennesaw Mountain chose Georgia over Auburn, Michigan, Florida, and others on 2/7/18. Goede brings great size at 6-foot-6 240-pounds and will be a huge asset in the run game with his length and ability to block. He's more athletic than people realize and should be a weapon in the red zone as well.
4-star Blessed Trinity LB J.D Bertrand
Matt DeBary on Bertrand: A tough, instinctual linebacker, the Blessed Trinity defender committed to Georgia on 7/15/17. With his 6-foot-1 218-pound frame, Bertrand can play both inside and outside linebacker positions and has a true nose for the football. He's a good tackler who can make an early impact on special teams as he climbs the depth chat at linebacker throughout his career.
