The Announcers said it best Sunday, the Ladydawgs worked on the things that showed up. The defense was the first thing, they were challenging the screener and it forced Ole Miss to shoot a lot of jumpers. The first game in Oxford, Ole Miss scored over 40 in the paint, Sunday was totally different and we jammed Cotie McMahon every time she tried to get to the basket. The results were 20 points lower from the first game.
On offense, I saw the UGA team that I saw in Knoxville last year at Tennessee. We were not shooting fast break threes. We ran our offense that revolved around the post players and it freed up Dani to come out and face up the defender to either drive to the basket or if the defender gave her to much room, then Dani had a good look for a three. If our shooters have room, they will knock down the jumpers. We have to continue to play this style of basketball and we will be fine. I noticed that Cece Dennis was behind the team's bench at the game. She was the number one player in Georgia before her ACL tear. She is working hard to return to the court. She has visited Auburn already and Ole Miss was on her list. UGA might be the leader for Cece and an early commitment could be coming. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
