LSU height against our guards was the difference. Coach Abe really thinks that she can win in the SEC with a three guard offense. She could if she had one or two guards at least 6 feet. Danielle Carnegie is not going to guard Flaujae Johnson. Now, the worst thing that could happen has happened. Mia Woolfolk gets hurt and it could be season ending. The way the LSU player fell on Mia leg,it might be broken. UGA doesn't have a chance without her. But, I am disappointed that she is not playing Jocelyn Faison and Aubrey Beckham. Coach Abe might be not be a good fit for the SEC. This team is in trouble.

At this point I'm not even sure Abe wants to win. She has a five star on the bench who is ready to play and locked down every top SEC guard as a HS freshmen and sophomore. She's healthy. She cleared to play and has been out playing our own players at practice, yet Abe still has her on the bench, no minutes on the court. Abe needs to figure out what type of team we are. We have the pieces to be a high tempo, push the ball, score on transition team, but again she's not utilizing the players correctly. She's leaning on Dani to do it all and it's going to wear Dani out. Trin is good when she's not in her emotions and trying to outdo the point matched up against her. And when she gets in those moods, pull her out and let her re focus, because we don't need bad shots jacked up for no reason. Zhen has earned the starting position. She has size, runs the court, doesn't force shots, rebounds, and can catch a pass from the guards. Our other bigs are struggling to catch passes, hold onto rebounds, and make easy buckets. There's no excuse for it. And when they continue to be inconsistent. TAKE THEM OUT! It's okay to put someone else in. The best need to be out there if we want to be successful in the SEC. It does us no good to dominate non-conference if we're not holding our own come conference play.

We can't ring the basket now for some reason. Imagine how much better we would be if we just rang six more baskets each half. And it really should not matter who we are playing. A shot is a shot. Our players are very talented, but right now they are not mentally strong. I hope this changes soon.

And that is one of the main reason I am waiting to pass judgement until the end of the season. Savannah and Ryan suppose to be two of our top three point shooters and they are 0 for at home during a game and a very good LSU team.

The SEC is a gauntlet. Ole Piss beat OK on the road and Bama handed Kentucky their first lost.

Sure we struggled against a&m but we beat them. If we can win the games we are suppose to win and sneak a few wins that we are not suppose to win, we will be fine.

Fellow Ladydawgs Fan, I have been a fan of women's college basketball since the mid seventies. I remember when UGA made the greatest hire in the schools athletic department. They named Vince Dooley Athletic Director around 1978. The entire basketball program at UGA were the worst in college. Dooley came down near my area and stole Hugh Durham from Florida State who had coached in a National Championship game as well as an elite eight and always winning 20 games. Dooley next move was to turn the women's basketball team into a winner. He asked around about who was a good coaching candidate and everyone was talking about Andy Landers and Dooley hired him. Landers never had a losing season. Landers biggest commitment was to a fence around Georgia. He racked up starting with Teresa Edwards. But the point that I want to make is He recruited players to play for National Championships. I look at Coach Abe and she came from UCF, she coached at Albany in New York and Missouri State. Those schools are group of 5. She ran the same style then as she runs at UGA. She plays 3 guards and 2 forwards, you can do that in the AAC, but this is the SEC. You have 6'6 centers, 6'3 power forward and small forwards. We are getting killed on the boards and you are forcing Dani and Rylie to guard a true forward. And what is even worse is that they have to try and score over them. Coach Abe should have been trying to find someone who could help with scoring and rebounding. I remember when she took over UGA, she brought her best 3 seniors, but what really helped her was Joni left Malury Bates, Javyn Nicholson and Jordan Isaac. They were SEC prooven forwards. And she brought Britney Smith who was a good forward. But her players were all 5 year players. She likes to redshirt players. You can't redshirt in the SEC. That is a sign of players who can't play in the conference. This team has a couple of very good players, but I am telling you that this team will have a losing record in the SEC like the last two seasons. Coach Abe is really a group of 5 coach, that is who she is. UGA women's basketball is at the bottom of SEC and the only way we get out is this is something I hate to say. When Josh Brooks says he has had enough and he wants a winning women's basketball program, he will do what LSU did, they opened the bank and bought Kim Mulkey, Texas bought Vic Schaefer, Kentucky bought Kenny Brooks, South Carolina bought Dawn Staley. Women's basketball is big time sports and if you are going to compete, you have spend money and get a proven coach. UGA, right now is not committed to women's basketball.
