I was curious about Jazmin Maddox when I saw her in the visitors list. I was thinking that Leah DeWitt would be among those with Morghan Reckley and L'oriel Murray. So I checked on Jazmin Maddox and I was blown away. She scored over 500 points as a freshman which is always amazing. I kept asking myself why she is not in Prep Girls top five for 2028. She played her freshman year at Jasper County high school which is why she isn't getting the notoriety she deserves. Coach Abe has noticed her which might give us a head start in her recruitment. Jasper County is not playing the top schools in Georgia. Jazmin is transferring to Newton County which just won the 6A state championship.
I checked Jazmin AAU basketball and she plays with AEBL which has 4 of the top 5 players in 2028. She is an outstanding player. It looks like she was 5'9 when she started her freshman year. She looks 6'0" now and there is a site that lists her at that height. The thing I think that makes her elite is that she is an outstanding athlete, scorer and passer. Prep Girls has Jazmin as the top rising player in the state and at 6'0, I see Jazmin as a top ten player when she graduates.
Coach Abe and staff are doing an excellent job at evaluating talent early. I know I have said this about a lot of players, but Jazmin is definitely one I don't want to see going to any school that is not UGA.

Prep Girls put out their new rankings for the 2028 class and they taken notice of Jazmin Maddox. The new is Morghan Reckley number one, Leah DeWitt number two, L'oriel Murray number three, Jazmin Maddox number four and Aniyah Branch number five. I am glad that Coach Abe and staff saw her talent earlier. As I have said before, she could be a great player for us in the future. In fact, I would love for UGA to take the top five, because they could be a starting line up in the future. I also think that Jazmin could be a top ten nationally, possibly number one player barring injury.
