I see that Bella confirmed her commitment to Notre Dame today. After this spring, I am not to concerned with losing her. The transfer portal is changing sports in a big way. I was upset that we lost Danielle Carnegie and Ava Watson last recruiting cycle. Now we have Danielle Carnegie, Vera Ojenuwa, Rylie Theurakauf, Enjulina Gonzalez and Aicha Ndour, all are experienced players. The key to success now is making sure your players blend together. I think we have a very good group of team players. I look at all the teams across America and today's players will not ride the bench, the majority will transfer.
Danielle Carnegie and Jocelyn Faison have been working out together. That is a good sign that they will be with UGA hopefully through their entire careers.

We have three point guards which is Trinity, Aubrey Beckham and Enjulina Gonzalez and none are seniors this year, so Spaight was not a priority this year. If you look at 2027, Coach Abe and staff are really going after Cece Dennis and a new name that popped up recently in Bella Owumi. Bella was offered June 6th and she visited UGA as soon as she could which was last week. Bella is 6 foot tall and has been starting on varsity since 7th grade. She already has 2 state Championships and is Miss Massachusetts and she has 2 more years of varsity left. She was 5'9" and she has had a growth spurt to 6'0" tall. She is playing point guard, combo guard and small forward. She fits coach Abe system perfectly. She averaged 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals. She is definitely the type player that Coach Abe has signed, she can score from the perimeter and she can get to the rim. She rebounds and she is an outstanding passer. She is super defensively. She reminds already of Zhen Craft, Jocelyn Faison Mia Woolfolk, Aubrey Beckham and Vera Ojenuwa. On her visit last week she bonded really well with the team. She is ranked number 32 and I think she will go inside the top twenty by her senior year. She has a lot of ACC offers but UGA is her only SEC offer and that might be big for us. Coach Abe is getting the types of players who play great defense and team offense. I think we are getting that old Georgetown type of team that dominated the early eighties in the men's game. I never thought that they could win, but they were in three National Championship games in four years playing outstanding defense. I see Coach Abes vision and I like it. Anybody can score, but when you find special players willing to play defense, you will have a special team. Bella Owumi is definitely one to keep an eye on. If she comes back to UGA with her family, we will get her.
