Vera Ojenuwa has signed up to be a Ladydawg. She is a 6'4" forward who chose Arkansas over the Ladydawgs last season. This time around Coach Abe got her. She is very athletic for her size and can score at all three levels. She will help make the Ladydawgs an NCAA tournament team. Welcome to UGA Vera.

Vera did an interview with UGA and she admitted that she should have signed with Coach Abe and staff last year before Arkansas. She said she knew that she should have been a Ladydawg when Arkansas played at UGA. Vera is a big girl who is very athletic. She can shoot the three very well and put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. She is going to really be a terror on defense with her athleticism.
UGA is already picked to be in the NCAA tournament next spring. I don't think our fans understand that when you are coming off a losing season and you are picked to be in the tournament to decide the National Championship, that is huge. Because even the experts will admit that you can go all the way to the top. Coach Abe is an outstanding coach, coming to UGA she put together a team in one month that had LSU beaten on their floor, goes to Iowa with one of the greatest ledgend in basketball history and we were right there. Coach Abe is right there with the best coaches and now I think she has her most talented team ever. We are picked in the top 35, but I am going to say we will be a top 16 team and will host in the tournament. I believe that we will finally beat LSU in Athens and that South Carolina will get the best version of UGA that they haven't seen since Dawn Staley took over the Gamecocks.
Mia Woolfolk, Trinity Turner, Danielle Carnegie, Rylie Theurakauf are proven scorers. Then you add Vera Ojenuwa, Aicha Ndour, who are very good experienced players plus Miyah Verse, Zhen Craft, Jocelyn Faison and Aubrey Beckham who are all quality players, you have something special. UGA is going to be very very good and I am ready to see our team join the conversation again.
