Auburn fired its basketball coach and now will her top 20 recruiting class stick with them. Their top recruit Brandie Harrod was one that Coach Abe was after. In fact she visited UGA last and had us in her top four. Her final four was Auburn, UGA, Oklahoma State and Utah. If she hits the portal, she could be an option. I will keep my eye on this one.
Johnnie Harris was Vic Schaefers Associate Coach while he was at Miss State. Brandie Harrod was the number one player out of the state of Kansas.

Their other highly rated recruit has already asked to be released from her NLI.

I came across the name of somebody who could fit our need - Rachael Rose. She's a grad student guard from Wofford who was out due to injury this season, but she averaged 22 last season. We played Wofford last season, and this was her stat line-

22 pts on 50% shooting. 6-7 from three. 12 rebounds, six assists, and one turnover. She had similar numbers against Tennessee as well.

Taliah Scott has entered the transfer portal. Taliah is from the Orlando area and she started out at Arkansas then transferred to Auburn. She is a 5'9" guard who was a McDonald's All American and she can really shoot it. I believe Coach Abe tried to recruit her before. She would fit nicely with UGA. I am definitely going to keep an eye on this one.

Nylah Wilson is a 5'9" combo guard who signed with Auburn and she has reopened her recruitment. Nylah played for Thomas Dale in Virginia who Mia Woolfolk and team beat for the state championship last year. Nylah is an outstanding athlete, but I didn't see the offensive game that would fit UGA.

I am seeing Coach Abe going after Taliah Scott. A healthy Taliah Scott would make UGA a contender for the SEC regular and Tournament Championships next season. She is almost a guaranteed twenty points every game next year. Taliah said in an interview her senior year in high school that she wants to go to a school that is trying to get to the top. UGA is certainly trying to get back to the elite.
Taliah has two more years left and she could be the missing piece for our team next season. We have everything next season to turn our program around. Adding Taliah with Mia Woolfolk, Fatima Diakhate, Trinity Turner and I would assume Jocelyn Faison as our starting lineup would match anyone in the country next year. And just add Zhen Craft, Meghan Yarnevich, Aubrey Beckham, Harissoum Coulibaly, the Twins, Miyah Verse and Savannah would make us a final four contender. UGA would be back in the world of women basketball.
Wednesday I watched the Ladydawgs vs Tennessee game in Athens the year 2000. I remember we had that great team, but we got a gift in 98 that I didn't know about. Michigan in the time of Prop 48, they didn't take any Prop 48 students. A guard by the name of Deanna Tweety Nolan joined her high school teammate Tawanna McDonald at UGA and the rest is history. Tweety started playing during Christmas and the next thing you know, we were in the final four. I think Taliah can give us that extra punch to make a good season next year great. Now the big question is can Coach Abe sell her the vision.

Taliah Scott has committed to Baylor.

Yep, the Baylor coach hired the former Auburn coach as an assistant. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more Auburn to Baylor transfers.

She is a scorer and I think about Ward who followed her coach to Miss State and things didn't go her way. Ward ended up leaving Miss State in January and I think she is playing professionally in Europe. She might have been the difference in UGA possibly making the tournament this year.
