Kate Harpring who is up there for the number one player in the country has visited UGA on December 2nd 2024. This is big because it is the second visit to UGA and both times the entire family came. As far as I know, UGA and maybe Tech might be the only schools she has visited twice. I am hoping for a Finley Parker early commitment to UGA because she could draw players like Kate Harpring to Athens. Folks, we could be on the verge of greatness at UGA again. Think of Janet Harris, Katrina McClain and Teresa Edwards on the same team. This off season will be one of the biggest in past history for us. We must take back the state of Georgia.

Harpring is telling her teammates she will not be going to Georgia. And it's not because her father played for GA Tech or our coaching staff. She loves our school and coaching staff. She can't get over something else. I wish she could get over it. I would love to watch her play here.

Don't give up Dawg44, I believe that she loves UGA. You don't keep visiting a school you don't like. Coach Abe is the one who can bridge that gap. We are definitely on her mind and I think in the end, we can land her.

I hope you are correct. But from my inside info, it would be a miracle.

On3 has finally put out their odds board on Kate. They are Tech at 47, UGA 41 Bama 3.2, and Iowa and Maryland both at 2.7. Now Tech leads, but that really says it is a toss up between UGA and Tech. Anytime the odds like that, I love our chances. Reel her in Coach Abe.

Kate has taken 6 unofficial visits. This is unofficial, she was to visit UGA first on January 7. The other schools were Ga Tech, Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Tennessee. She could be getting closer to a decision or cutting down her list to maybe 2 or 3. Kate and her Marist teammates are in the Elite Eight. They play Cartersville tomorrow evening at 6 pm. They are 28 and 2, a win tomorrow will put them in the final four Saturday. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Kate Harpring and Marist season came to an end today to Creekside 54 to 43. It was the Kate Harpring and C'india Dennis show. They both had 30 points. We knew how good Kate was, but it was the first time I saw Creekside who is now 31 and 0. Dennis despite her height being 5'4", she can flat out shoot the ball. She was in foul trouble and might have played 3 quarters. She is a sophomore and will be an All Classification player. She already has quite a few offers.

I just checked Kate Harpring On3 new predictions and it is interesting. It says that Vandy leads at 28.1, Iowa 24.6, UCLA 21.1 the next 4 which is UGA, Georgia Tech, South Carolina and LSU all with a 6.2 prediction. If she chooses Vandy, she will have to share the ball with Mikayla Blake who has become a star. We were in Mikayla's final five. She was one I was hoping to get to UGA, but with Trinity, Dani and Rylie, we will definitely be okay. Iowa has a super class that is coming in and they have already started a good class for next year. UCLA has young players on the team and they have a guard from overseas in next years class. South Carolina and LSU are loaded with guards and UGA is in great shape. Georgia Tech has a new coach who will start from scratch might be her best bet. Otherwise Kate will have to earn playing time with her school of choice. UGA will love her and she would get more than adequate playing time and she be the leader after her sophomore year. That was the way it is at almost any school who wins at a high level.

Kate Harpring has committed to North Carolina. This was one I wanted, but I am very happy with Danielle Carnegie and if we need to move Jocelyn Faison to guard I am confident she will be exceptional. I look at today's game and the majority of all recruits have never seen UGA women's basketball as a top team in the country. I think Coach Abe is going to change that starting with this season. When you win, there are a lot of players that want to come to your program. The players who are choosing other schools today will want to transfer to UGA tomorrow.

We had no chance. She has constantly told her high school teammates that she was not interested in going to a school that had some gay players. I'm certain we have a few that are gay. I just don't see what difference that would make. They would never bother her in any way. This subject should never be a part of any decision. The main thing she was looking for on visits was finding out info about who might be gay on the team. She may be talented, but mentally, I'm not sure she is all there?

Guys, we shouldn't publish that type of content about any player. If Kate chooses not to come to UGA, so be it. We have been great in the past and I see us being great in the future. I can't believe that North Carolina is a perfect school and the UGA that Kate visited back then is completely different. There are only four players that is left from March. I don't even know if Trinity and Mia was at UGA when Kate visited. Besides, every school that she visited, has had gay players. UGA, as far as I have known, have been a school that the players have had the utmost respect for each other on our team. Let's just move on from Kate and let's win this year and everything will take care of itself.

For over a year I'm been sharing that she was considering a very embarrassing reason for not attending Georgia. I said several times it was a very ugly reason and it was something that should NEVER even be considered for picking a school. No one asked me to not share the reason. I always said I would not tell anyone until after she picked a school. I kept my word on that. If I seem bitter, it's because I am. Her high school teammates have been begging her to go to Georgia or Georgia Tech so they could easily drive over to watch her play. She chose to use a terrible reason to not attend a school that I love. My suggestion would be to not read any of my posts. Especially if you don't want to know the truth about everything. I will always post with honesty and passion for my lady dawgs.

Dawg44, don't be bitter, because if Kate doesn't want to go to UGA, that's fine. I just didn't like the fact that Kate made an excuse to not come to UGA. Just say that UGA is not the school for you because you don't want to burn bridges. Patchis Roberts and Danielle Carnegie didn't say anything. Every one who lives in Georgia doesn't want to go to UGA. We are in great shape with the talent that we have. Kate is an exceptional player, but Coach Abe recruiting has put UGA in great shape. We finished 13 and 19 this past season and now the experts have us already in the top 35. That means that they know you have experience talent. Danielle Carnegie ran away with Miss Georgia, Georgia Gatorade player of year, Maxpreps State player of the year and Georgia Naismith player of the year. She is as good a player as we have had out of the state in a long time. Then you throw in Trinity Turner who was Florida Gatorade player of the year, Mia Woolfolk was Miss Virginia basketball and Zhen Craft Maryland player of the year. This team is loaded, just needs some games played together before the SEC. The state of Georgia is loaded with young talent and Coach Abe is already on them. It is going to get interesting with 2028. 2 of the best point guards in the country are playing AAU basketball together. Everyone knows Morghan Reckley but Leah DeWitt is special also. She is another special player who can shoot logo threes and get to the rim on anyone. In fact, we can recruit in state for an outstanding 2028 class, Aniyah Branch and Loral Murray who both play for Holy Innocent would be great additions. I think that this season is going to change how the top recruits in Georgia look at UGA.

Thank you for the good thoughts and info. I got some new info tonight from the same sources. Her high school team mates. She told them she went to North Carolina for the huge NIL deal she got. I still don't like the ugly excuse she used on Georgia, not to come and play here.

Dawg44 you just let the Cat out of the bag. If she went to North Carolina for a huge NIL deal. She will have to play around Nyla Brooks who was very close to coming to UGA. Nyla Brooks is an outstanding player who played against Bishop McNamara and Zhen Craft. From what I saw from Nyla, she is going to demand that the ball will go through her. Kate will have to settle for second fiddle or possibly third with the players going to North Carolina this year. NIL is going to be a death trap for a lot of players because you will be bought and paid for. I would rather go to a program that will give me the opportunity to play my game rather then tell me I have to play their way for money. Someone will transfer from North Carolina because they will not be happy as a role player. Look at Notre Dame with Olivia Miles and Hannah Hidalgo. You can't have players coaching your team.
