Folks, Essence Cody might truly be the number one Freshman in the Nation by the September. Just watching some of the highlights on her, if she was a senior, she would be ranked in the top 100 now. I just hope Joni has someone at every game during the AAU Circuit. I know for a fact FSU is one of the Schools that is going to make a run at her as will all the top Schools. The Kids today goes to the Schools they see playing in the final fours. We haven't been to one in 20 years. Joni needs to find that Recruiter who has ties to the state of Georgia who can recruit. We have to start landing these kids if we want to compete at a high level in the SEC again. We just had a mediocre season and from what we have on our roster, next season will be about the same. We have to show the Olivia Nelson-Ododas, the Asia Durrs and the Olivia Cochrans that they can accomplish their dreams in Athens. Tom Crean comes in and after one season he has the best recruiting season in Athens in a couple of decades. Kirby Smarts staff is killing it. It's all about going into a Teenager's home and selling UGA. You have to show them that your plans includes them and you will win. You can tell them that Teresa Edwards went there because none of the kids today really knows who Teresa Edwards is. Kirby doesn't have to sell Hershal Walker, all he has to sell is what his Team has done since he has been in Athens. Winning today is all about recruiting. You start getting some of the top Recruits and your results gets better from day one. Mediocre talent means mediocre results.

Yes recruiting at home is important. Up coming season will be tough, hope somebody can carry this team until will get some help.
