That's a great one. Crockett's whole story is wild.

His song "The Valley" is basically his autobiography.

I can't list them all but I bet he's got 20 songs that play on the radio. He's a music factory.

Wow! A definite add to my playlist.

There are several things I like about country music:
1. I can hear/understand all the lyrics
2. They often tell a story, sometimes thought provoking
3. I'm often left with a peaceful or positive feeling after listening

Never heard of Billy Currington or that song, but I just listened to it and liked it.

As for Thomas Rhett, I knew of him since we attended the same high school and he played football w/ my youngest brother. Hadn't heard of this song, but I liked it. Given today's climate, it delivers an important message.

I just listened to 'The Bottle' and 'Twenty-One' by Corey Smith. Didn't realize he was a Georgia native and attended UGA. In the second song he mentions the university and Milledge Avenue.

Anything by the "First Lady of Country Music" Miss Tammy Wynette
You Never Even Called Me By My Name David Allan Coe
He Stopped Loving Her Today George Jones
Hard Working Man Brooks and Dunn
Anything by Waylon Jennings
I could go on and on Love country music
'Stand By Your Man' is a classic Tammy Wynette song I'd forgotten about.

I liked 'You Never Even Called Me By My Name' by David Allen Coe. I hadn't heard that song or artist before.

'He Stopped Loving Her Today' was a good song, but sad. I was glad that a peppy Brooks and Dunn song followed it.

I forgot that Waylon Jenning sang 'Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys' and the theme song from the 'Dukes of Hazzard'.

'Take This Job and Shove It' by Johnny Paycheck and 'A Country Boy Can Survive' by Hank Williams, Jr. were on my playlist.

'Crazy' by Patsy Cline is a classic country song.

I liked 'Seminole Wind' and 'Swingin' by John Anderson. I wasn't familiar with either song or the artist.

While I've listened to quite a few Johnny Cash songs, I hadn't heard 'The Battle Song of New Orleans'. It was a fun listen.

I was familiar with Alan Jackson, but hadn't heard his song 'Chattahoochee'. One of my favorites today.

Thanks to everyone that recommended some country artists/songs. Today I added 30 of them to my playlist, doubling what I'd started with.

"As for Thomas Rhett, I knew of him since we attended the same high school and he played football w/ my youngest brother."

You probably know his dad, Rhett Atkins, played football at UGA, was a country artist, and is a songwriter. He also has the same name (Thomas Rhett Atkins - Thomas Rhett is a JR).
Rhett has 30 Number 1 hits, and was honored as "Songwriter of the Decade" by ACM in 2019. He's written a lot of hits for several artists.
