I asked Tanner Stines about the progress of the huge scoreboard on the wall of the coliseum. Here is his reply:
That project was placed on hold for now - lights and sounds system upgrades going on this summer.

I heard a couple things via a pretty good source:

Only 8 of about 50 speakers were working last season
The huge video board is not just on hold: it was determined that Stegeman was not structurally capable of holding such a screen on that wall

Will they redesign/shrink the video board and try anyway? Unclear. But it sounds like it won't be as big as initially thought.

need a new arena
sorry I go to lots of games and in fact saw the redo 2 times live and its a mess

At the UGA Athletic Board meeting today, Josh Brooks said the Stegeman Coliseum lights and sound have an estimated completion date of this fall.

I have been saying that they need to add 1 or 2 large video/scoreboard(s) in the corners of the East, upper deck in Sanford Stadium. So much of the stadium seats are angled out of viewing the current scoreboard, not to mention that the recruits miss out on so much by having their backs to it.
