Again, this is what I have been told, but this one is coming from a second-hand source so take it as you will. One of my sources is apart of silver circle (like always when I introduce a source, only time I'll ever say it), had a conversation with josh brooks at the UGA athletic events and through text, and I was told a name directly but asked to withhold the name.
The point being is that said player has already silently signed the paperwork/is in the process of signing the paperwork to officially transfer or is basically a "lock" to sign. I would expect the officially signing to be announced in the next few days. The only clog in this process is the school we are in a bidding war with for this player, is currently about 100-150k short of what we are offering him, and his camp (dad) is waiting to hear back on if the opposing school will do.
You might read this and get frustrated that this all sounds just like free agency and a bidding war, but that is the reality. Players are making 1.5 million dollars, a year, to play college basketball, they are now professional athletes. For us who seem to cringe at this idea, we have to adapt if we do not want to get left behind.
