after Ole Miss on the road! I thought we made it a little harder than it needed to be with missed FTs and floor mistakes in the 2nd half, but the Dawgs, after building a 13 point 1st half lead based largely on great FT shooting, just held serve in the second to grab the 13 pt win. I think this was a defensive win for the Dawgs, who held the Wildcats to 37.5% shooting (24% from 3). Dawgs shot just well enough - 42% from the floor and 29% from 3. Dawgs also outrebounded the Cats by 7 - 41-34. They outscored the Dawgs in the paint by 10, which I think will not be the norm for UGA this year. Dawgs had 4 men in double figures (Newell, Cain, Demary and Leffew) and 1 with 9 (Montgomery). Hard to defend us when we spread the score out like that. Nice team effort, which should care the Dawgs a long way in the conference....

I'm not going to lie...I was down hard after that Ole Miss loss. Every one of our weaknesses was exposed. We looked like a team that was going to struggle to win 6 conference games.

Last night was a nice salve on that wound. The Steg was electric, with a smaller-than-normal Kentucky contingent kept largely quiet. Blue - who I thought might be close to losing his starting spot to Montgomery - was huge, especially in the first half. Asa and Somto FOUGHT in the paint. Turnovers, especially in the second half, were not a huge issue. Just enough shots fell.

SEC road games are going to be BRUTAL this year. Home games are borderline must-win for teams with dreams, and Georgia is officially one of those teams. Lets get the Sooners on Saturday and keep the momentum.

Conference road wins are gonna be tough to come by. UK had 14 TOs to our 15, and we actually scored more pts off TO than they did. I do want us to handle the press better; we are making loose passes and just aren't crisp in our execution. We turn it over and lose momentum. We should have won that game by 20 really. I love when we press and extend the defense to try to force things. That's what led to UK's poor shooting. They weren't getting easy shots. Blue played really well. Asa had a nice 2nd half. Our bigs essentially negated UK's size. It's not often they get outrebounded. Demary played really well, too. I was worried that Lamont Butler might be able to take advantage of our guards; he was their leading scorer because I thought the refs let him get away with a lot - walking, carrying, etc. But Demary played very solidly and limited the damage. We gotta protect the home court! I gotta say that it was nice to see Mark Fox scurry off the court after another loss.

Mark Fox was terrible for our program. Set us back for a year or two.

Foxy was awful.

Surprised Coach Cal didn't hire him since Cal always spoke so highly of him after KY beat us with Foxy coaching.
