CS hit FTs with .5 seconds left to make it that close. We just wore them down with depth, scoring 51 off the bench. We also pressed much of the game, which I love to see. They had one player, Kelly, who went berserk and kept them in game with 29 tough pts. Montgomery and Leffew off our bench just lit it up with 22 and 19, respectively. We shot 51% for the game and 50% from 3 in this one. I thought Lawrence, who was 3-12, was pressing too much and shot more than he should have. He really needs to do his damage driving. Newell had a steady 14 and 7 rebs, while Abson came off the bench and got 8 big rebs and 3 blocks himself. He affected the game without taking a shot.
While we only had 10 TOs for the game, Demary had 3 of those; some of our TOs were just careless. We've got to clean that up. I counted at least 3 circus shots that Montgomery made along with 2 massive dunks. We got us a player there. Cain has got to start producing more or he find himself on the bench. Thankfully, it didn't matter, but FT shooting was an abysmal 57%. The TV announcers were discussing how much depth UGA has and how many guys can score. We don't rely on 1 guy or even 2 guys every game; it changes game to game. One said he spoke with White about that, and White said he'd never coached another team like this one. I agree. We are deep and dangerous. We have some things to clean up, but the SEC better not underestimate us.
