The Antelopes, as we knew, were tough. We defended really well and held them to 36% shooting for the game. But, after we got to an 11 pt. halftime lead, they outscored us by 6 in the 2nd half. They killed us on the boards in the 2nd half, and TOs continue to be a problem. Both Demary and Lawrence had 4 each. They had 16 2nd chance pts to our 9 and 16 pts on our TOs. The Lopes had 10 more shots from the field than we had, and they beat us on the boards 35 - 33. They played a rinky dink 2-2-1 zone in the 2nd that gave us problems until we realized there was a huge hole in the middle of the zone that we could attack. That team should never outrebound us. We have to rebound better going forward and keep those TOs down. I might have a heart attack if I see Demary inbounding the ball against pressure again. I don't like our lack of use of screens to get someone open against presses. Putting 4 guys and the baseline and having them run down the court is not an effective way to break the press. We have too many good, experienced players to not handle presses and inbound pressure.... Still, overall we are off to a great start - the best in about 23 or 24 years. But things are about to get heavy in the conference. No easy games....
