It was a very small crowd there last night. If we want to be like Kentucky, ours fans need to step up like Kentucky.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Does winning create interest or does interest create winning? I mean, our history hasn't given fans a lot to cheer for over the years. UK fans have been winning BIG consistently for decades. It's easy to be a UK fan. This team will win over fans if given a chance. Plus, this was an exhibition that didn't count. Now, I use any excuse to see the team play, even practices. But most aren't like that. Most fans need to be given a reason to show up. Historical winning breeds consistent enthusiasm.

I agree. But the word has been out there for a while and very clear on this team's potential. I was shocked people didn't want to come and see it.

Seeing is believing, but they gotta see first. They won't just accept what people say.

Agree. But you have to come and watch to see it. :-)

Or some will wait to see the team on TV before deciding to come to a game in person.... :-(

In the grand scheme, this was an exhibition and was meaningless to most fans. We sell out meaningless football games mainly because football is a social event, as well as a sport. It's an all day party for many. That social (tailgating) aspect doesn't exist for basketball. You gotta want to see the game or be a big fan of the team to go to those games.

Lordy it was an exhibition. We're in the middle of football season and I hear some kind of election

I'm confident UGA fans will pack the Steg. Monk got me all in again

Monk, basically agree with you but when we hired Tubby, I bought season tickets and drove from LaGrange and back for home games. Too old to do iit now.

I hear ya. I'm fortunate to be in Atlanta. I do know someone who drives from Chattanooga for every game and another who drives from Albany, who is a little selective about which games he attends. There have been times when I couldn't make it to Athens regularly. Thankfully, I can now. We all have to make our decisions based on our individual circumstances....
