Shot 59% from the field with 37 rebs and 15 assists. I can live with the 12 TOs, though I would love it to be under 10. The faster you play, the more TOs you will have. Newell led with 20 pts on 9 of 10 shooting. Somto had 3 blocks - get used to that. Both Lawrence and Godfrey had 3 steals, and we forced 18 TOs - that is a great stat! Excellent first showing....

It's not an excuse. It's a reason. I've coached before. Players don't automatically get what you want them to do in the first game, even if some are experienced, particularly if you are playing in a system that is the least bit complicated. These guys have only played together in practice. It's not hard to understand. It can take quite a while for the light to come on, assuming it ever does. Our Final Four team in 1982-83 took a long time to figure out how to play and win without Dominique, and there were a lot of good players on that team. That team lost a ton of games for almost the whole year before the light came on at the end of the season. Have a little patience. Don't be that annoying and unreasonable fan who thinks a team should be world-beaters right out of the gate....

7 turnovers or less per game! I demand it as a dedicated fan!

If I'm going to show up to the games and eat nachos and popcorn, that's the least the team can do for me!
