I think this way off. Newell is not going to start at the 5. That would be wasting his talent. I don't see Cain or Lawrence starting (not in my starting 5, though I agree one of them would start if we go with 3 guards), and maybe not Godfrey, though White loves the guy and he is a real leader. Newell is a stretch 4 who will give us some post points but will probably score more from the perimeter - mid to long range. Abson or Cyril need to start in the post to give us a defensive presence. Godfrey could start at 3; he would be a demon on defense at 3. Not sure about the other end. I still say Leffew is our best SG. The guy can score!

Rothstein did say he disagreed with the #12 in the SEC prediction by the writers. I think he's right there. We should be top half at worst.

I think to say we are at least top half is a little bit of a stretch, that means 1-8. While I do think that there is a chance where we finish 8th, I would not see much higher than 8th but would be happy and there can be a world where that happens. I also agree with Jon and think we will finish higher than 12th. I think the number is 9-10, which in my world is a bubble team with a chance to play in march. I think in terms of the starting 5, I know you love leffew and i love his shooting ability too, but Cain is a proven P5 producer as a freshman who has a year under CMW and has earned the starting spot. I think you are spot on about Newell, he is most definitely not a 5 and we would be hurting his potential/production if he played at the 5 instead of the 4, but I do not think CMW would do that. I think Rothstein is more so just really high of Godfrey and Lawrence from what I have seen and less aware on guys like Abson or Leffew. With that being said, I am almost confident that the starting 5 for GAME ONE (the starters will definitely change throughout the year) will be -

Demary
Cain
Godfrey
Newell
Abson

The only possible change that I see is that we do not start godfrey and we start lawrence.

I have not had a chance to talk to any staffers/managers/players as of late due to school kicking my ass, but that is what I think it will be on november 4th

I saw it. I don't agree with it. Somto was our leading rebounder and shotblocker off the bench. But White knows his team best. If he wants to start 3 guards, he can do it, but I don't have to agree that's our best lineup.
