I suspect there will be more. We again have a chance to really upgrade the roster if we can....
This was true mostly in the last 5 minutes of a game. My point: his faults were magnified because he made his biggest mistakes in the biggest moments.Monkdawg said:
Hill plays hard, but he has a tendency to forget he's a PG and tries to do everything himself.
Totally agree! I think Demary is an unfinished product with a much higher upside than Hill. Demary turns the ball over too much so far, along with his other faults. I hope his game will evolve. We had Hill for 2 years; he was a decent back-up; he was never going to be more than that, barring injury. I like Hill's enthusiasm, but there are better guys in the portal.StevieBuckets said:This was true mostly in the last 5 minutes of a game. In conference play per 40 minutes, many of Justin Hill's numbers are actually better than Demary's. Same turnover numbers with double the assists, higher 3-point %, more points, etc. Stats here if anyone cares to browse them: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/georgia/men/2024.html#per_min_conf
Bottom line (to me): he was just so streaky. "On" Justin Hill was really fun. "I must carry the team" Justin Hill was not.
I'll miss him, though, and this is the worst feature of the portal era in my opinion. I love that the players now have agency, but I miss the affection built for players over their 4-ish years in the program, warts and all.
Good luck to Justin wherever he goes!
