Coach? Cal.... Not a fan.

I like Barkley's annual comment on KY when they lose. "Cal has the McDonald All Americans, and underdogs they lose to have players that just ate at McDonalds". But KY's McD AAs are kids. The underdogs, who just ate at McDs and upset them, are mostly grown men.

You can have all the talent in the world, but if you don't play as a team, you won't win. If your individual stats matter to you more than wins, you won't win. UK's teams go out every game expecting to win but are not willing to subsume their individuality for team goals. I just don't think Cal is a great coach. UK and Duke are finding out that teams of all-stars usually aren't very good "teams". Too many egos.... When Cal took our former diminutive PG a couple of years ago, I knew he was in trouble.

BMD I think Barkley cribs off a famous Wimp Sanderson quote, "they got a bench full of McDonald's All Americans. I got a couple of Burger Kings."

Oakland just shows that there is no reason Mike White can't get it done here.

Shooting is the most important thing in a basketball game. And Oakland did it very well. If you shoot great, you can beat anyone.
