has thrown in the towel. We went, what, 9 or 10 minutes at the end of the A&M game without a basket?
I agree that historically our basketball program is about the equivalent of Vandy football. That can change quickly with either the right hire or the right recruiting. So far, I am not impressed with our staff's evaluations and recruiting. I do like the 3 freshmen we have seen - I hope we can keep them. We have to ante up. NIL and the portal can put us in the game immediately, but we haven't seen it so far from this staff. I'm not giving up on White yet, but I do want to see improvement in recruiting. And I want White to choose an identity he wants us to have....Nostradawgus said:
They lasted a couple games longer than I did, so I guess some credit.
Monk, Buckets - lot of vitriol on the pay board about White - the decision to hire him, his job Year 2, and the recruiting.
My guess is he is regretting taking the gig, and the feeling is getting mutual based on those comments anyway.
I am of the resignation that UGA hoops is in the Vanderbilt football permafrost - we are doomed, and will forever be doomed. We are just not serious about basketball.
Love to hear if ya'll have different perspective, or insight/intel from folks or chatter around the program.
The teams we lost to were certainly talented. That's the problem, right? We don't have the talent yet. Yet, look at what USCe has done. UF has been solid. No coach should get the time Fox got. I had hoped we would have signed more than 1 freshmen in this class so far, and I am hearing that it won't be easy to keep our freshmen. I hope that's wrong.Dawg44 said:
All the teams who beat us this year are very good/talented teams. We are much better this year than we were last year even though the record doesn't show it. I like the progress White is making even though it's slower than we want. If we gave a terrible coach, Mark Fox, nine years, I think coach White deserves the same amount of time.
