IMHO the Dawgs have shot here if they can prevent Auburn from running by keeping them off the boards and they can stop Auburn's posts. I've watched Auburn several times this year. They are inconsistent, to put it mildly. They barely squeaked by GSU after falling behind at the half by taking the ball inside. GSU had no answer for their posts. Auburn wants to run and get easy baskets. They are streaky from outside and just as liable to shoot themselves out of the game as keep themselves in it from distance. We are good at defending the 3 usually, so it comes down to defending their posts and hurting them inside ourselves. This game will probably be decided by post play.

You'd figure a post play game tips in our favor. I will be beside myself if we open conference play with a Dub.

Great win for Coach White and the team!! I wasn't 100% correct in my pre-game assessment of the game. Auburn was indeed streaky from the perimeter, and their high scorer was a post - Broome. But our posts didn't really do much offensively. Our offense came from Roberts and Oquendo primarily. I thought we defended our asses off and got hands in passing lanes leading to deflections and TOs. We lost on the boards by 3, but we didn't let the Tigers dominate there. I've never thought much of Pearl as a game coach, though he is a good recruiter and motivator. White, on the other hand, made some nice adjustments in game by going to a 2-3 zone to help our rebounding and take advantage of Auburn's bad perimeter shooting. Just a really good win for the Dawgs. Could we soon be ranked? 11-3 now, I think. Wins over ND and Auburn. Not a bad resume. White continues to impress....
