The problem Crean faces now is something most coaches loathe: foundational players giving up on the program.

Part of building a successful college basketball program rests on consistent recruiting and keeping the team's core intact from year to year. Incoming recruits must replace talent lost to either the portal or the NBA. Crean has not shown he can maintain that cycle at Georgia.

Edwards was Crean's flagship recruit at Georgia, and despite it being practically a given that he was headed to the NBA after one year, there was no capitalization on his presence.

Edwards is the modern day, UGA equivalent of 'Kilroy was here.'

Nine months, a bunch of losses, a NBA fathead in the basketball offices, and otherwise no perceptible residual benefit or impact.

Crean has certainly not been great, but let's not act like we are only team losing players. A&M has 9 guys in the portal. This is going on everywhere. Walker Kessler, a potential star and high draft pick, left UNC for Auburn. What the hell? Leaves probably the best program for big men in the country and goes to a team that rarely has a post entry. Makes no sense. Too many kids don't want to compete for PT. I have it on good authority that our staff had problems with the players and their egos last year. This is not all Crean. Should we be better? Sure. Is it all Crean's fault? No. Is he on the hot seat? Likely. If his personnel moves don't pan out, he'll be gone.

By problems with egos do you mean building them up after going 5-13 in conference play

I keed, I keed.

Yeah, I can see where this years team might've had a few 'I''s' in "team".

Michael Jordan: "There's no "i" in team, but there is in win."

Sadly, we didn't have Michael Jordan on the roster - only a few that may have thought they were.
