I know it sounds crazy but it won't get much easier than Miss St at The Steg..... generally picked to finish 12th this year. We should pull this one out; could win convincingly if we can get 4 or 5 of our guys in double figures.

Temper your expectations, don't let an 8-0 1-0 start get you too excited. Lots of work ahead.

I think we forgot to recruit 3 point shooters and bigs. Wheeler continues to struggle against bigger teams. Not looking good for the sec stretch.

Height is going to be an issue in league play. We are going to have a difficult time guarding SEC post players. We don't have enough shooters. Wheeler is a liability if he doesn't decrease the turnovers.

That was ugly. You're correct bout Wheeler, he has to get his turnovers down.... currently averaging 5 TO's a game, that needs to be cut in half. I'm glad Horne made some shots but our big guy needs to grab more than 1 rebound!! He had 0 defensive rebounds in 29 minutes, that's hard to do.

Looking at our schedule up to the mid-way point of conference play, I'm not sure we'll be favored in any of the games. AU or Ole Miss in Athens look like our best opportunities for a W. Somewhere around a 2-7 start is very likely.

Wheeler - and the team as a whole - has been turning the ball over wholesale since the season began. And really since Crean arrived. I was hoping that the trade off was we were running teams into the ground and those points were overcoming the turnovers. And they were. Against the non-conf schedule. Last night indicates that dog may not hunt in SEC sched.

The only true post player we have is McMillan. I liked him early on. But I think his minutes have decreased. He is a contrast to the team running at breakneck speed.

Kier was supposed to be our shooter. Other than Cincy game - wah wah waaaaaahhhhhh. He actually looks better as a PG to me. So Crean is yet to sign an outside threat.

Last night was a bit of a microcosm for the entire Crean tenure. Here's to hoping last night was an anomaly on the current season and not a continuation of the status quo.

@Ark, @LSU, AU, @OleMs, KY, FLA are our next six. A 0-7 start is a real possibility. I don't see much way this team is competitive. Another 5-13 season was my prediction coming in, with the caveat that if the O/U was set at 5... I'd take the under. I'm afraid that may have been a little optimistic.

So indulge me Sid - another 5-13 SEC record or worse.

When do you start talking about cutting your losses with Crean? Is year 4 put up or shut up? And what would put up be? NCAA? Above .500 SEC? .500 SEC?

I'm so tired of sucking in a sport that shouldn't be that hard to be competitive.

It's not like Crean took over an awful program that was finishing bottom 2 or 3 in the league. We had one losing record the last 6 years and that was 7-11. If Crean were to go 7-11 this year we'd probably give him an extension. No way this team wins 7, so that won't be happening.

Let's not jump the gun after one SEC game but realistically it does look like a pretty dismal season ahead. Horne, Kier and Garcia leave this year so it's hard to imagine that Crean's next squad will be better. I've gone on record plenty that year 4 will likely be the end of Crean.

I can see us winning at least ten sec games. I hope I'm correct.

It's looking more likely that 10 will be Crean's combined 3 years total of W's (2+5+3). Nothing wrong with optimism though. I like that saying bout how an optimist and pessimist ultimately end up at the same place but the optimist damn sure has more fun along the way.
