What are the positives regarding the current state of UGA Basketball?

We've had two consecutive years of record attendance even though we haven't had a winning record. The fans can see we are finally trying to play modern/exciting basket and are very excited about it. We are in on more great recruits, although they are not selecting us just yet. I think we are getting very close to exploding the program in a great way. If we gave a joke nine years to coach us, I think Crean deserves at least 15 years to get us to the mountain top. Just my opinion.

Virtually anytime a coaching change is made there is excitement and a surge in attendance/ticket sales. Crean going 7-29 in his two seasons has completely squashed any optimism the fringe (about all we have) fans had for our program. With the season approaching we have been picked 13th in the league and there is zero buzz around our program. I mean zero!! Maybe Covid is partly responsible but I cannot recall a season approaching and things being this quiet.

I'll say for the umpteenth time, it was time for Fox to go. It's just bizarre to me that some act as though Fox did a terrible job. Seriously, one losing conference record the last six years he was here?? It doesn't look as though Crean will get us to .500 this year, likely not even close. That'll be 3 straight below anything we endured the previous 9 seasons.

Fox & Staff coached, maybe overly so. A little less hold of the reins might have benefitted us. These two years have been hard to watch. The lack of coaching has been glaring.

If you give a joke nine years, you need to give a proven coach fifteen years. Crean has been to final fours and sweet sixteens at two different schools.

Not sure reaching a final four in 2002 (with Dwayne Wade) is relevant today. Chizik won a championship (with Cam Newton) and folks aren't lined up to hire him. Crean then leaves Marquette for IU where he manages just 3 winning seasons in nine years. At UGA he's finished 13th, 13th and we are picked 13th this year. Bad hire.

I confess I am in the early stages of buyer's remorse with Crean. He's got to put a better and more successful product in the floor year 3. I mean just fundamentals - play defense like you care and quit turning the ball over like it was the plague.

And questioning Crean AND wanting Fox fired long before he was are not inconsistent or in any way related IMO. One was leading us no where. The other is just starting on that path.

I'm all for Crean being given every chance but haven't we all learned to never hang your hat on Georgia basketball no matter who the coach is. They all have convinced me of that.

Fool me Jirsa, shame on you. Fool me Felton, shame on me. Fool me Fox, shame on us. Fool me Crean, we truly have no clue.

we are overdo for a season when everyone exceeds expectations.
we can peak in the post season and shock everyone.

crean becomes hugh durham. both are better recruiters than coaches.
can't we can match the talent of terry fair, james banks and vern fleming?
