I would grade him out as: A in creating interest and enthusiasm, B in recruiting, D in X's and O's. On the other hand I would probably grade Fox as: D in program enthusiasm and interest, C in recruiting (he did get KCP) and B in X's and O's and bench coaching. I do believe that we would have a better record this year with this team if Fox was still coaching these players (maybe not much better but at least we would rebound and play defense).

It was looking much better before it looked really bad before it got better.

Mine is a result of the recruiting. The sec is becoming a legit league now. You need players. That wasn't the case five years ago

Currently? He's in the D range. Close to failing, but not failing yet.

If this team doesn't somehow really improve without Edwards, I'm not sure he has a job after next season.

If we break it down

recruiting(B-), home court attendance (A), record (overall/SEC) (F), and future prospects* (C).

If you take Edwards out of that equation, which I know you can't, its C/Fs all around probably outside attendance. Though I wonder how much attendance would have kept up this year with a bad team with no Edwards.

These grades will decline, especially recruiting and attendance, with this next year's class. The attendance will be down next year no matter how you slice it. We won't have a must see player and, again, the team will have to drastically improve without that must see player to be somewhat competitive.

*This does not include Edwards or its an A+ because hes a top 3 pick.

Edit: Forgot that D is a grade.... Been awhile ha.

C-. I'm willing to give him a pass on last year but this year has been pretty unacceptable with a possible #1 pick. I expected to at least be .500 in SEC play but instead we have seen undisciplined losses and blown leads non stop

I give him a D. No defense, no creativity on offense. The recruiting brings him up from a F. He is a horrible coach.

Unless AntMan stuns the world and returns, there is zero chance this team improves in 20-21. There is zero guard play other than Wheeler returning. There is no size coming in to protect the rim as of right now. Both guards coming in are midgets and projected as PGs. I have no idea what the hell Crean is doing not bringing in guards with size who are scorers.

And you better hope Hammonds returns. And that things could be even worse without him is equally scary. He has not had a good year.

A LOT of turnover so the team is really young and inexperienced.

They'll get better if he keeps recruiting well.

I give him a B+ and it's not an A because of the way we have not closed out games that were winnable.
His marketing of our program to our fans is the most remarkable thing I have seen in the 37 years that I have followed UGA basketball.

I'd give him an incomplete.

Basketball is more of a "just add water" sport than football so quicker turnarounds are possible, but he needs time. It's easy to knock recruiting, but getting basketball players to UGA is like recruiting football players to Kentucky.

If the current group of freshmen (meaning the ones that stick around) haven't made us relevant after their junior years, then I'd weigh in more harshly. Right now generating interest is a big challenge.
