Something makes no sense. This team can not hold a lead. They gave up 9 point lead in 5 minutes. In second half teams adjust and go inside on us. This team plays no defense.

UGA has turned it over 21 times leading to 26 points by TAMU, so yes, that will be a big favtor when someone explains how they managed to blow another big second half lead. I'm confident the reference to the number of freshmen will also be used.

Btw, some fans have excused Anthony Edwards' inconsistent play this season by stating that he should still be in high school.

What they fail to realize is that he entered high school as part of the Class of 2019, reclassified to 2020 as a sophomore due to grades when he transferred high schools, then reclassified back to 2019 once his grades were back on track.

Thus, his most recent reclassification was a correction to his initial reclassification (i.e., he graduated on time w/ his original class).

This is pathetic! I am done watching UGA BB until we hire a competent coach who can recruit. Fox could coach but could not recruit and Crean can recruit but cannot coach.

I'd just as soon we play more Freshmen from now on. 4 of our top 7-8 ate Juniors(1) and Seniors(3), so we are not that young. Crean is getting next to nothing from his Upperclassmen, and I think it's now time to conclude Edwards has been a huge disappointment. I had so much hope when we were 10-3. Just a shocking season.

Coaching!!!! 100%. This team has no direction or identity. You hate to say it after only year 2, but we made a bad hire. This will not get better. For a young team to continue to regress and show no signs of getting better is all on the coach and leadership. Very weak.

A great hire would have been Buzz Williams but Texas A&M opened at the same time as UGA. He's won everywhere including VT. I think Crean can still get the program better down the road but the year away from hoops didn't help him grow as a coach in the areas of defense.

I think that's the most frustrating thing with this team. There are definitely stretches where the team looks great and then they go missing for too many stretches. I spent too many games watching Fox's teams look like a high school team for 40 minutes. These guys just aren't mentally tough enough to make it a full game right now. I'll put part of that on Crean but lets not pretend like Fox was a coaching guru

When you rip the damn thing apart to start all over and have 9 freshman on the team crappy basketball is to be expected. Next year they should be much more consistent and better. Let's see where we are next year at this time. Fox disaster of recruiting has us in the mess where we are relying on this many freshman! Crean's positive nature is being tested, the challenge will be this year's recruiting team and developing these freshmen over the next 10-12 months.

Walton and Brown- both 4 Stars, and contributing nothing. Is Walton hurt? If not, why aren't he and Brown not playing more? Anybody got info?

I think we have all over evaluated our talent. Crean is not a great X's and O's coach and apparently we don't practice defense at all. Crump is nothing but a 3 point shooter and not a real good one at that. Edwards is not a lottery pick-the talent is there but the game isn't, at least not yet. Harris and Hammonds are good supporting cast players but cannot take over a game. You add all these things up and you get an inconsistent, fundamentally challenged, soft style of play that is fun and frustrating at the same time to watch. I truly believe that Crean was the wrong hire for us.
To add to what Dean was alluding to with the one handed passes and overall sloppy play, back in the dark ages when I played the worst thing you could do is commit a turnover. A turnover is a trip down the floor that you don't even get to attempt a shot, the more shots you attempt the more shots you make...If I/we committed turnovers like this bunch does we would find ourselves on the bench. To quote one of my former coaches, "we would be so far down the bench that he would send a cab for you if he wanted to put you in".
