I'm not a huge fan of AAU, but it seems to be a necessary evil. At least 2 of Crean's staff are very connected to AAU, particularly here in GA. Dollar and Abdur-Rahim know their way around the AAU programs all over. I can foresee no scenario where we do not get our share of players. The question is what will Crean do with them. I like what I've seen so far.

I can understand trepidation Monk, but it's become a standard for a reason. By expanding the competitive pool, especially for those from rural areas, or just non hoops hotbeds, players can improve their games immensely by working out against superior opponents than they'd see at home or even on a statewide high school level. Plus many of these camps have elite coaches working them to further add individual development.
