The Bulldogs made the NCAA Tournament twice in Fox's nine seasons. Crean has a more proven background: He went to the Big Dance nine times at Marquette and Indiana, reaching the 2003 Final Four with Dwayne Wade. The hire puts Georgia in a position where it will try to get to the top of the SEC with a veteran coach who's been in major-conference college basketball for decades.

One thing about hiring Crean is that it will get us a lot of media attention. Fox was an under the radar kind of guy. Crean is about as far from that as you can get, and he has tons of friends in the media. We will certainly get some of the media spotlight, and it will only increase if Crean recruits well and wins.
