Ohio State redshirt freshman QB Tate Martell subtweeting Justin Fields two weeks ago.
While Martell is a cocky dude (ref. 'QB1: Beyond the Lights', Season 1), he's also a winner (45-0 record as Bishop Gorman High School's starting QB; won three consecutive USA Today High School Football National Championships b/w 2014-'16; threw for 113 TDs, 9 INTs, and rushed for 35 TDs [avg. 7.2 ypc]) in high school. Fwiw, since he departed the Gaels, they've earned a 22-6 record.
At 5'11", 210 lbs. he's a bit undersized for a college QB, but he early enrolled on 12 January 2017 so he has nearly two years of practice and familiarity w/ the Buckeyes playbook. In 6 games this season he completed 23 of 28 passes (82.1%) for 269 yds w/ 1 TD and 0 INT, and rushed 22x for 128 yds (avg. 5.8 ypc) & 2 TDs.
