Eh, folks can write whatever they want. Basically, if we can't beat UK, we don't deserve the SEC East crown, so be it, Citrus Bowl or something.

This team seems to have some holes, I think, that last year's team did not really have.

Getting the OL back together may help.

You can't compare years, as I think UGA last year was a better team than this years version, and conversely I think UK is better than they were last year. However, to me what UK has this year that they didn't have last year is just more confidence on defense. They have I count 8 SR starters on D, and two JR starters, and then 6 more in their two deep either JR or SR, so out of their top 22 defenders, 14 of 22 are JR or SR. That means this group has played a LOT of football together. However, that group as soph/JR's last year, allowed the following point totals in SEC play-13 to SCarolina, 34 to Missouri, 45 to Miss State, 26 to Tenn, 28 to UF, 37 to Ole Miss, 21 to Vandy, and 42 to us.

Again, we played them at HOME last year, but wanted to look at how that game statistically went-

Benny Snell had 22 carries for 94 yards, 4.3 yards per carry, their QB Stephen Johnson, 12-22 138

Kentucky had 268 total yards on the day.

Jake From was 9-12 for 123 1 TD and 1 INT, Nick Chubb 15 carries 151, 10.1 yards a carry, 2 TD's, Sony 12 carries 87 yards 7.2 yards a carry 3 TD's, Swift 7 carries 66 yards, 9.4 yards a carry, Herrien 3 carries for 48 yards, 16 yards a carry.

UGA had 504 total yards on the day.

Turnovers were even at 1. Game was 7-6 after one quarter, they had one drive in the first quarter, one FG was set up after a Jake Fromm INT on our first drive. Halftime it was 21-6. Kentucky had a nice 75 yard drive to start the second half, cutting it to 21-13, UGA then scored the last 3 TD's, and the last TD of the game for us was scored with 10 minutes left in the 4th.

SO, my point is this, this defense that is being talked about as the best in the SEC, they have experience and confidence on their side coming into this game, but to me our OL is BETTER than it was last year, and although Swift/Holyfield are not as good as Nick/Sony, they are more than capable of moving the chains. The difference to me is that I think IF Fromm plays well, we present a lot more balance this year which should work to our advantage.

Dilly, Dilly, Haney. I made a point on another board the other day about how all we are hearing is how bad our D is versus the run and how awesome UK's D has been this year, especially in their SEC games. I tried to point out that if you look at the offenses that UK's D has racked up these stats against, you have to wonder if their D stats are a little skewed. The offenses of South Carolina, Mizzou, Vandy, Miss St., A&M, and UF aren't exactly setting new NCAA records this year.
I'm not saying that UK can't beat us, I'm saying that they haven't played against our offense yet.
