ATHENS - Former 5-star QB Justin Fields has transferred to Ohio State.

That’s according to multiple reports including one from Fox Reporter Bruce Feldman. The move was expected from Fields, who didn’t play during Georgia’s 2019 Sugar Bowl loss to Texas.

Feldman reported that Fields was on campus in Columbus on Friday. It is unclear if he will be able to play in 2019, but he will have to clear the NCAA to do so. It is unknown what waiver he would be able to use that has been used in the past by student-athletes. He’s not moving closer to home, and the NCAA clearing to play this fall for some other reason would be a curious move from the organization.

Fields ends his career at UGA going 27 for 39 for 328 yards and four TDs passing and accumulating 266 rushing yards with four TDs. He didn’t start a game in 2018, but played in all but two games for the Bulldogs.

Fields is the second former 5-star QB to transfer from Georgia in as many years.
