BREAKING: Georgia Football Flips Big Cornerback Prospect

ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have flipped an impressive cornerback prospect from the California Bears.

Four-star JUCO cornerback Alius Mayo flipped his commitment to the Bulldogs today after taking an official visit to Athens over the weekend to take in Georgia’s dominant 41-13 win over Oklahoma.

The Bulldogs have two safety prospects on the commit list in Adryan Cole‍ and Seth Williams‍, and now they land their first cornerback commitment in the current 2027 cycle.

The long, athletic 6-foot-4 190-pound defensive back from Stockton, California plays for the Modesto Junior College Pirates and had been committed to Cal back in August. Now, the dynamic defensive back prospect has plans to play in Athens.

So far this season Mayo has made nine tackles, two INTs, and two more pass-breakups in coverage.

He’s ranked as the No. 1 JUCO prospect in the country for the 2027 class.
