ATHENS - After signing five defensive linemen in the 2026 class, defensive line coach Tray Scott isn’t satisfied.
You can never have enough playmaking defensive linemen and Scott is hoping to load up again in the current 2027 cycle.
One out-of-state lineman to know is South Pointe (SC) standout, Seth Tillman.
The four-star from Rock Hill, South Carolina took a visit to Athens over the weekend and left feeling like a top priority for the Bulldog defensive staff.
“UGA is a great university that focuses on development, academics, and student success”, Tillman told Dawg Post. “Kirby Smart is authentic and knows how to connect with players and family. Coach Scott has a lot of knowledge and knows how to sharpen student athletes talent.”

According to FanDuel, the current odds of a safety happening in the game are +1260.
While many sources say this could come down to an in-state battle between the Tigers and Gamecocks, Dawg Post has been told the Bulldogs really impressed the playmaking defensive lineman over the weekend.
As a player, there aren’t many defensive linemen like Tillman across South Carolina. He was one of the more productive defenders across the state last season, dominating on the trenches.
Tillman was impactful every single Friday night and it led to 61 tackles, 27 TFLs and 8.5 sacks. At 6-foot-3 260-pounds, Tillman isn’t the biggest or heaviest linemen, but he plays fast, with good leverage, and he’s naturally strong. He gives great effort and has a knack for fighting off blocks and making his way into the backfield. He constantly met the ball-carrier behind the line of scrimmage and still has his best football way ahead of him.
Tillman is currently ranked as the No. 13 DL prospect and the No. 121 overall in the country.
