BREAKING: UGA Football Adds Productive Running Back Dante Dowdell for 2026

ATHENS - Kirby Smart’s UGA Football got another addition through the NCAA Transfer Portal on Monday. 

Dante Dowdell, a running back at Kentucky a season ago, said on social media that he is transferring to Georgia. Dowdell’s decision to transfer to UGA comes after playing for three other schools in three years. 

During his time at Oregon (2023), Nebraska (2024) and Kentucky (2025) Dowdell accumulated 272 carries for 1,264 yards with 16 touchdowns. His most productive season came in 2024 at Nebraska when he scored 12 touchdowns.
