BREAKING: Clean Old-Fashioned Transfer | UGA Football Adds a Top WR from Tech
ATHENS - UGA Football added Georgia Tech’s top returning receiver to its roster via the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Isiah Canion announced that he was transferring to in-state rival Georgia from Georgia Tech. Canion had 33 catches for 480 yards with four touchdowns in 2025. The sophomore from Warner Robins did not play in the Jackets’ 25-21 loss to BYU in the Pop-Tarts Bowl in December.
His final game for Tech game against the Dawgs where he had four receptions for 54 yards. Canion’s biggest game of the season game against Pitt. He scored two touchdowns that night against the Panthers during his four-catch, 67-yard performance.
“Adding Canion is a good get for Kirby and that staff,” Dawg Post’s Matt DeBary said. “You’ve got some production to replace, and getting Canion on your roster is a good start to addressing some of the guys leaving.”
Canion is the second player UGA has added through the portal this offseason. The Bulldogs have entertained a slew of players in the portal so far this cycle. The portal doesn’t end until January 16, 2026.
UGA still needs to add more firepower at receiver to replace Dillon Bell and Zachariah Branch, who announced Monday that he had declared for the NFL Draft. The traditional deadline for underclassmen to submit a petition to be drafted as underclassmen to the league is January 14 - next Wednesday.
